Bangor - Rajendra P. Tripathi, 70, died unexpectedly on October 30, 2023, at a Bangor hospital. He was born October 1, 1953, in India, the son of Ram P. and Indira Tewari.

Rajendra was a highly respected Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon. He graduated from AIIMS India, a highly reputed medical school, class of 1975, and received his American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Certification in 1984. Rajendra practiced in Maryland, later moving to Maine, where he has spent the last 20 years. He met his wife Linda during his Residency at the National Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Virginia. They celebrated 41 years of marriage in October. His life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to the field of Medical Sciences, and he dedicated his career to healing and improving the lives of countless individuals. He was a symbol of selflessness and compassion. He was a pillar of strength, a confidant, a mentor, and a source of inspiration for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Indira Tewari, and wife, Linda, are his son, Scott Sowell and his wife, Robin Sowell, of Columbia, Maryland; his brother, Ravindra Tripathi and his wife, Indira Tripathi of India; his sisters, Tara Mishra and Pushpa Mishra and their husbands; two granddaughters, Sophia, and Brianna; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.
