Hampden - Ralph Ira Robbins Jr, 77, passed away at home surrounded by family on August 7, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 5, 1944 in Glenburn, the son of Ralph Sr. and Helen (Berry) Robbins.
Ralph graduated from Bangor High School in 1962 and later that year married Evelyn (Evie) Lincoln, who in his words was “The only girl I’ll ever love.”
Ralph was blessed with multiple talents which allowed him to excel at many different careers and hobbies throughout his life. His occupations included working in factories, owning a snowmobile business, many years at General Electric in multiple positions, and Sales and Marketing Director at Mid-State Machine Products, where he retired in 2006. Retirement for Ralph, however, meant starting his own construction business, building houses and doing home repairs and remodels. This was where his greatest talent and passion prevailed to the very end. He loved to hunt and fish, was an expert woodworker, was able to build or fix anything, and especially enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by Evie, his wife of 58 years; daughters, Susan Rideout and her husband, Eddie, Kelly Giles and her husband, Mike, Donna Demmons and her husband, Mike; grandsons, Ben Rideout and his fiancée, Bethanie Archer, Doug Rideout, Neil Giles and his wife, Jenna, Bailey Giles; great-grandchildren, Lane Giles and Adeline Giles; and two close foster siblings, Ronnie Grass and Peggy Akerson Meservey; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Helen; and his beloved dog, Chloe.
