Randall Pinkham

March 4, 1964 — October 17, 2023

Holden - Randall “Randy” S. Pinkham beloved father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 17, 2023, at the age of 59.

Randy was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1982 and Springfield College Class of 1986 and was a member of both his high school and college golf teams. He also was a member of the Brewer High track team and the Springfield College volleyball team.

An exceptional athlete, Randy enjoyed the challenge of improving his skills and the camaraderie with his teammates. He remained involved in sports, both as a serious golfer, who mentored many, and as a volunteer, who helped local high school girls' volleyball players improve their skills. Along with his love of golf, Randy enjoyed snowboarding and snowmobiling. He would often return from trips to describe the beauty and awe of Maine in winter.

After earning a degree in biology, Randy began his career in plant maintenance and landscaping. While maintaining a life-long interest in plants as a hobby, he changed direction and joined the family business (Seacoast Subaru) and has remained in the automotive business. He specialized in parts management, working in various dealerships in the Bangor area - most significantly with Whited Ford Truck Center.

Randy had a love of learning and was adventurous and generous in spirit. Those who knew and loved him appreciated his dry sense of humor and his passion for life. Not one to get bogged down with the burdens of everyday life, Randy “lived big” and chose to focus on giving back to the people and things that he loved.

In later years, he developed a passion for cooking and mastered the art of baking cheesecakes to share with friends and family far and wide. He bought himself a professional smoker and set out to study the art of barbecue. It was common for him to spend days planning, preparing, and cooking for others as a way to show his love and appreciation. His planning often included custom t-shirts that marked the occasion in a humorous way. In both cases, he loved the challenge of perfecting his craft and spent hours honing his skills and trying new recipes. Randy’s gift to others was sharing his love for good food and explaining the details of his cooking secrets.

In addition to his son, Dustin (partner, Samantha Jones), Randy is survived by his mother, Joyce Pinkham of Holden, and his sister, Kathy Pinkham (partner, Karen Hussion) from Marstons Mills, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind his Aunt, Ethel Haselton of Cape Neddick Maine, and Vero Beach Florida, and his Aunt, Maxie Douglas of Ilderton Ontario, as well as several close cousins. Randy was predeceased by his father, Rodney Pinkham and his beloved dog Maggie.

Finally, Randy leaves behind his work family at Whited Ford Truck Center and the many friends who listened to stories about his experiences, loved him, and shared many good times.

A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings -Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor. A private family graveside service is planned in the future.
