Raymond Jordan

Hampden - Raymond Fred “Willie” Jordan, 80, died August 16, 2023 peacefully at home. Willie was born October 24, 1942, in Bangor, the son of Richard C. Jordan and Shirley A. (Sabin) Jordan.

Willie graduated from Hampden Academy in the Class of ‘64’. Following graduation, he was employed at Tri Northern Dental Lab, where he learned the art of making dentures and improved on the techniques of making dentures that turned into a 45-year career of helping countless people enjoy the pleasure of a pretty smile again. He also enjoyed working for Rivers and Gilman Canoe Company, Forest Hart Taxidermy, Bartlett Dairy Farm, Northeast Dental Lab, H & O Eliason Dental Lab, and the Hampden School system.

Surviving, in addition to his devoted wife of 56 years, Gloria (Goode) Jordan, are his loving daughters, Stephanie M. (Jordan) Doughty and her husband, Joe, of Hampden, and Pamela C. Jordan-Cunningham, and her husband, Corey of Winterport; sisters, Jeanie (Jordan) Goode and her husband, Loren C. Sr., and Nancy (Jordan) Goode and her husband, Roger; brother, Richard C. Jordan Jr.; nephews, John B. Goode, Loren Charles Goode Jr., Durwin Martin Goode Jr., Richard Raymond Jordan, and Scott Michael Jordan; nieces, Denise M. Goode, Amie M. Goode, Lorrie A.M. Goode, Patricia Viering Eldridge, and Danine Viering Stickles; grandsons, Auden C. Hayes and Joseph Doughty; granddaughter, Willow Rae Hayes; several grand nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to Willie’s parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ruby (Jordan) Matthews and Linda (Jordan) Goode and her husband, Durwin M. Goode Sr.; brother, Richard LeRoy Jordan; grandson, Thomas Everett Hayes; nephew, Martin Charles Viering; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marcia (Goode) Viering.

Anyone who met Wille was left with a memory of a kind deed, a good laugh, a fun time, a lesson well taught, or a life-changing experience. Most people were made better for having known Willie Jordan. His greatest passion was camping and fishing with family and friends at Baxter Park for over thirty years. Many weekends were spent in a canoe on a pond or stream. He also enjoyed singing and entertaining at Jams and musical gatherings with friends. He delighted in getting people to dance to his singing.
