Raymond Naugler

November 15, 1931 — December 25, 2013

BREWER – Raymond F. Naugler, 82, died December 25, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at a Boston hospital due to a heart related illness. He was a graduate of Brewer High School, class of 1950 and served in the Army Reserve. Ray was co-owner of a former Doyle and Carter Oil Company of Brewer. Following the sale of his company, he continued in the home heating industry with Agway and Webber Energy. Ray was a life-long active member of the First United Methodist Church of Brewer, serving on the Finance committee and Board of Trustees for many years. He was a dedicated Mason, a member and past Master of St. Andrews Lodge #83 AFAM of Bangor, thrice Potent Master Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, a member of the Maine Consistory 32nd Degree, coroneted a Sovereign Grand Inspector General 33rd Degree of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry for the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the United States of America on September 29, 1982 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was also a member and past patron of the Millwee Chapter #198 O.E.S. of Orrington and a strong supporter of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in Maine. Ray was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Scottish Rite Children’s Learning Center, now the Dyslexia Center for Children.

Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Wilda G. Naugler of Brewer, two daughters, Linda R. Naugler, of Westford, MA, Ellen N. Doughty and her husband, Mark, of Brewer, two granddaughters, Aubri-Maria Doughty and her husband, Isaiah Morrissette, and Desiree Doughty and Richard Beckmann. One great-grandson, Aiden E. Doughty, all of Bangor. One sister, Hazel N. Hall and her husband, Robert of Brewer and two nieces. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4pm – 7pm, Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer, where a Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:30pm by the officers and members of St. Andrews Lodge. A funeral service will be held 2pm Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, Brewer with Pastor Harbour Mitchell officiating. Spring interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
