Raymond “Ray” Perry
Orrington
Ray “Red” Perry, passed away April 8, 2024 after a long illness.
He was born in Brewer, July 8, 1943 the son of Raymond W. Perry, Sr. and Pauline A. (Little) Perry.
He graduated from Brewer High School class of 1962.
Ray began his career as a motorcycle mechanic at Holland Brothers, Brewer then went to work for Darlings Recreational Division and finally Friend and Friend in Ellsworth, retiring from there.
He was an avid RC Plane enthusiast. His flying motto was “let’s go bore some holes in the sky.” He created his own flying field named Perry Field, where he taught and invited friends to enjoy flying.
Ray was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church where he especially enjoyed the Men’s Group.
He was predeceased by his son Dan and sister Paulette.
Surviving are his wife Judy of Orrington; two sons, Jason “Jake” and his wife Jennifer Perry and David Perry, all of Orrington; three much loved grandchildren, Adam, Kaden and Emmaleigh; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 Saturday April 20, 2024 at the East Orrington Congregational Church, 38 Johnson Mill Rd., Orrington. In leu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the church.
