Raymond L. Scripture BREWER - Raymond L. Scripture, 78, died Jan. 3, 2012, at a Bangor hospital with his wife, Beverly, at his side. He was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Dedham, son of Lloyd and Gertrude (Johnson) Scripture. Ray was a 1951 graduate of Bangor High School and served in the U.S. Army a veteran of the Korean War . He retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 321, which is now Local 716. Roy was a life member of Bangor Elks Lodge No. 244, joining in 1958, and a charter member of Brewer Eagles Club No. 3177. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Bev, are his son, Guy Armstrong and wife, Tory, of Carmel; two grandchildren, Erica Rae Wilcox and husband, Chris, of Fairfield, and Derek Armstrong of Carmel; a special great-granddaughter, Lilliana Claire Wilcox, who called him "Grampy Great;" and one sister, Janice Grace of Etna. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, John and David. He leaves very special friends, Kenny, Kathy and Craig Borneman of Veazie, who were there for Bev all the way. A memorial gathering will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Bangor Elks Club, 108 Odlin Road, Bangor.
