Hermon - Retired TSgt Raymond M. “Mickey” White passed peacefully at his home on September 22, 2022. He was born in Hodgdon, Maine, on October 14, 1933, to the late Miles and Bessie (Nightingale) White. Raymond grew up on the White Settlement Road in Houlton with his three brothers and two sisters.
After graduating from Houlton High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for the next 21 years. Raymond graduated from NCO academy and schools in the electrical field, which was his expertise. He also received many commendation medals. While in the military, he was stationed in several parts of the United States and two tours in Germany.
In 1954 Raymond married Joyce Williams of Hodgdon, and they had three children Randel, Becky, and Lori. He had wonderful memories of traveling and visiting many beautiful places with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Lori Sue Griffin, and his only son, Randel Miles White; three brothers, Wilbur, Grover, and Dennis White; one sister, Gwen Wiggins.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce; daughter, Becky and her husband, Michael Patton; son-in-law, Stanley Griffin and his wife, Emily; daughter-in-law, Ginger White; six grandchildren, James and Lorren Patton, Philip, Victoria, Cody, and Katie Griffin; step-grandchildren, Dale, Danny, Donnie, Sharon, and Shannon; four great-grandchildren, Aiden Miles Patton, Wesley and Emily Daggett, and Jack Miller; one sister, Elaine Duff; sister-in-law, Sally White.
A Funeral service with military honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Hermon Baptist Church, 2496 US-2, Hermon. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family from 12:00 noon until time of service on Tuesday. Interment will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
