Rev. Ronald Libby

October 18, 1933 — March 19, 2014

CORINTH - Rev. Ronald E Libby, 80 passed away on March 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with multiple health issues at his home.
Pastor Libby was born in 1933, the son of Harold & Eula (O’Donal) Libby, He and his wife Judy of 58 years resided in Charleston, while he pastored the Charleston Pentecostal Church until 1998 when they moved to Corinth.

Pastor Libby was a great husband and father, teaching, guiding and inspiring love, compassion and faith in God. After discharge from the U.S. Army, during the Korean conflict, He was the Youth Pastor for six years at the Charleston Pentecostal Church and then for the next 37 years he served as Senior Pastor. He brought the church from a congregation of 60 to 750 and accomplished eight building programs during that time. In 1980 the church moved into a new auditorium that seated 1063. Pastor Libby retired from the church in 2000 but continued on with the Souls Harbor Television Ministry. He built a new building that houses the Souls Harbor Ministry on the Exeter Road in Corinth, where the Souls Harbor weekly programs are produced. He was the longest serving member of the Chaplaincy Service, EMMC. He founded the Charleston Christian Academy and operated it for five years.


In 1959 he began a radio ministry, which he continued for 17 years on WABI, Bangor and in 1970 he began the television ministry Souls Harbor which continues today on WVII Ch 7 Bangor, WAGM Ch8 Presque Isle and all of the Provinces of Canada. After retiring from pastoring he continued a very active evangelistic ministry throughout New England and Canada with his sons, Rick & Mike.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Harold Jr and sister Joyce Kimball. Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy of Corinth are his two sons, Rev. Richard E Libby of Charleston and wife Linda and children Bethany Gromel and husband Glen, Kristin Richard and husband Josh and Carrie Carr and husband Joel, Rev. Michael E Libby and wife Carolyn and children Katrina Hedges and husband Michael and Matthew Libby and wife Jessica; great grandchildren, Abby, Hannah, Luke, Levi and Jude Gromel, Tyler & Shae Richard, Lydia Carr and Elliana and Isabella Hedges, Gian, Aria, Alana and Jenna Libby; one brother Allen of Wisconsin and sister Lois Dunfee and husband Dalton of Corinth; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will gather for visitation Friday, March 21st, from 5 to 7 PM at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, Route 11A, Charleston. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the church.
