Rhoda L. (Whitehead) Bouchard
Bangor and Millinocket
Rhoda Bouchard, 67, passed away peacefully at home from a two-year battle with cancer on October 4, 2023. She was born November 27, 1955 in Millinocket, the daughter of J. Harold and M. Arleine (Stimson) Whitehead.
Rhoda graduated from Stearns High School in 1974 and attended the University of Maine-Orono. She worked in restaurants, then found her niche as a dedicated employee at Bangor Savings Bank, working for 36 years before retiring in 2021.
Rhoda is survived by her cherished daughter, Janelle Bouchard; loving and caring partner, Sean Pike and devoted sister, Deanna (Whitehead) Perrow; niece, Kelly Hopkins (Todd) and children, Jackson and Abby; nephew, Joseph Perrow and sons, Gabriel and Anthony; cousin, Gayle Sterling (Tim); sister-in-law, JoAnn Whitehead; nephew, Jamie Whitehead; niece, Jennifer Davis; niece, Lori Whitehead; and nephew, Travis Whitehead. In addition to her parents, Rhoda was predeceased by brothers, James Whitehead, Ronald Whitehead and sister, Jean Osgood.
Rhoda was kind, thoughtful and gentle, always with a bright smile. She had a passion for gardening, enjoyed growing her own herbs and vegetables, cooking, watching football (especially when she was winning the football pools) and cherished her beloved pets. Rhoda was a natural caregiver and had become a second mother to many of her daughter’s childhood friends, ensuring that they always had dependable transportation where ever they needed to go, plenty of home cooked meals, and a place to stay for however long they may have needed. She will be greatly missed, but will live on in our hearts as an example of sweet kindness.
