KENDUSKEAG - Richard E. Brown Jr., 68, passed away peacefully August 18, 2024. He was born July 2, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Teresa Eileen (Dwyer) and Richard E. Brown Sr.
Richard graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1974. From there he went on to college at Presque Isle Northern Maine Technical College from where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Plumbing and Heating (the youngest person, at that time, to have obtained a Masters in Plumbing and Heating in the state). He was a hard worker, always giving 100%, with a goal of always returning to work once health improved.
Richard loved animals! He said if it were feasible, he would own 10 cats and 10 dogs. He especially loved his dog, Luna. They would go out daily for ice cream at "Jimmie's" and would go for long walks where Luna would lead the way. He enjoyed crossword puzzles with his coffee. He had a passion for golf, loved the Patriots and being a part of the football pool. He really enjoyed all the New England teams. He loved his vegetable garden and being outside. He had an amazing smile and would always light up when his grandchildren came to visit, greeting them with either a bowl of candy, ice cream or both.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his grandparents, Frederick and Inez Dwyer; brothers, John T. Brown, and Frederick J. Brown; nephews, James "Jimmy" Brown, Michael Anderson and Charles "Chuckle" Stevenson and niece, Amanda Brown. He is survived by his children, Richard Brown III and his significant other, Lindsay, Denice Dejourno and her husband, Kevin, and Angela Hazlett and her husband, Darrick; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Ann Brown, Teresa Lynch and her husband, Arthur, and Inez Tardiff and her husband, Gary; brothers, James Brown and his wife, Dawn, Daniel Brown, and his wife, Jenny-Lyn; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and best friend, Mike Lavertu.
