Richard D. Colpitts “Dick” passed February, 10, 2022, at his home in Levant. He was born April 28, 1938 in Bangor, the son of David H. and Dorothy (Leavitt) Colpitts.
Dick attended school in both Houlton and Bangor. He worked for Dysart’s where he met his wife, Mildred Teague. They built a home in Levant and for the next 61 years they raised three children with plenty of love and laughter. Dick retired after 27 years from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, a job and company he loved. He spent many years camping and snowmobiling with his family. Dick and Mildred enjoyed travels in their motorhome and he loved mowing and plowing with his Kubota tractor.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mildred (Teague) Colpitts, are his son, Richard Colpitts Jr. and his wife, Vonnie of Levant; daughters, Nancy Oakes, Kathy Hamlin and husband, Michael of Levant; Grandchildren, Kristen Harvey her husband, Thomas, Rebecca Hitchings her husband, Jake, Deborah Colpitts, Greg Hamlin, Britney Hamlin and Bradley Oakes; four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with Pastor Stan Griffin, officiating. Relative and friends are welcome to call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be in Waugh Cemetery, Levant.
