Richard S. Souther, Jr.

Richard S. Souther, Jr., 61, passed away March 26, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born in Newburyport, MA., July 30, 1961, the son of the late Richard and Deanna J. (Bradbury) Souther Ireland.
Rick graduated from Newburyport High School and served in the US Navy in the Naval Research and Rescue Division for six years having been stationed at the Brunswick Naval Air Station and the South Weymouth Naval Air Station, South Weymouth, MA. He worked for Philip Morris Company for many years as a salesman, and at Portsmouth Ford, Portsmouth, N.H. He later owned Coffee Aroma, the New York Deli and Merrimack St. Grocery in Newburyport during the 1980’s. Rick was currently employed with Darlings Ford, VW and Audi for the last 25 years. He was a beloved and cherished member of the team.
Rick was a member of Charleston Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother Deanna are his wife, Galina Souther of Corinth; two daughters from a previous marriage, Ashley A. Souther of MA., McKenzie M. (Souther) Lastra of N.H.; cousins, Stephen Morrill Sr. of East Kingston, N.H., Jill Piantedosi of Saugus, MA ; an aunt, Vickie Decie; uncles, Stephen Bradbury Sr., Robert Bradbury and Dennis Bradbury; step-father, Robert G. Ireland of Harmony; step-sisters Lindsey M. Ireland of Bingham, and Stephanie F. Ireland of Harmony.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm. Tuesday April 2, 2024 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call at 12 noon until time of service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. following the service.
A graveside service will be held 1 pm Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Wildwood Cemetery, 132 So. Main St., Seabrook, N.H.
