BANGOR - Richard “Dick” Paul Spellman, 90, husband of the late Charlene Bertha (Smart) Spellman, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Maine Veteran’s Home. He was born April 11, 1932; the son of Mary (Brown) Spellman and Charles E. Spellman, Sr.
Dick attended Bangor schools and enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for many years at Union Oil in South Portland, Maine. Dick & Charlene enjoyed spending their summers at their camp in Raymond, Maine and the winters in Lakeland, Florida. He like boating, fishing, and camping in his leisure time.
He is survived by two children, David A. Spellman and Beverly Ginn of Hancock, Maine and Terrence E. and Andrea Spellman and of West Boylston, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Ryan Spellman and his wife, Taylor, of Temple Terrace Florida, Renee Spellman and her husband, Saed Rishmawi; Four great-grandchildren, Everly and Landon Spellman of Florida; Carmen and Layla Rishmawi; sister-in-law, Becky Libby and her husband, David, of Brewer; a niece, Heidi Libby of Bangor; a nephew, Chris Libby of Orrington. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Charles, Roland and Thomas.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, Maine.
