BANGOR – Richard E. Thompson Sr., "Dick", 86, of Bangor passed away March 31, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born in Brewer, Sept 2, 1933, the son of William and Hazel (Woodbury) Thompson.
He graduated from Brewer High School class of 1952, served in US Navy 1953-1955, and retired from Bangor and Aroostook Railroad after 39 years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 36 years, Carolyn Fowler with whom he raised five children and his second wife of 26 years, Phyllis Chambers; sisters, AnnMarie and Marilyn and a brother, Durwood. He is survived by his children, Richard, Lynne, Elizabeth, Jeffery, and Dale; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Bernard, Edward and Alan and three stepchildren, Bruce, Sue and David.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
