Richard Joseph Whitmore, 80, of Bangor, ME., passed away on May 2, 2024 in Bangor, ME. He was born on June 9, 1943 to Earl and Rita (Girouard) Whitmore. Richard proudly served in the Army from 1963-1966. He retired as a Master Electrician with James River, Old Town papermill.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his siblings, Earl “Jr.” Whitmore and Emily LaBlanc. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Beverly Whitmore; children, Ronald Whitmore and his spouse, Kat, Rebecca Whitmore, and Kevin Whitmore and his spouse, Suzanne; six siblings, Amelia Moore, Carol Young, Allen Whitmore, Dennis Whitmore, Roger Whitmore, and Brian Whitmore; ten grandchildren; as well as nine great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Richard found solace and community at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His faith was an integral part of his life and brought him comfort and strength.
Richard’s kindness, sense of humor, and humbleness will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
