BANGOR - Robert E Crocker, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, after a long, courageous battle with an extended illness. He was born on August 2nd, 1941 in Brewer, Maine, the son of Frank and Lillian (Libby) Crocker.
Bob graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1959. Following graduation he worked at Enterprise shoe store. This is where he spotted a cute girl working next door at Freeses Department Store. Shortly after meeting Diane Worthen, they married and started a family. On June 24th of this year, they celebrated 62 years of marriage. He also worked at various local milk dairies and was a legend in the food distribution industry. He eventually retired from Sysco in 2003.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He was a storyteller when it came to the adventures he enjoyed most; hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and spending time with his beloved family.
Bob was predeceased by his two parents, Frank and Lillian Crocker. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Harris; wife, Diane Worthen Crocker; son, Kevin Crocker and wife, Mary; his daughter, Kim Landry and husband, Jim; youngest daughter, Kelly Babcock and husband, Brent. Bob is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one niece and two nephews.
A graveside service will be held 9am, Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to meet 8:45 AM, Saturday, at the Superintendent’s Lodge, State Street Entrance, Bangor. The family invites everyone to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following the service.
