Robert J. Dore. 79, passed away September 30, 2021, after a brief illness while traveling in WI.
He was born in Orono, February 21, 1942, the son of Elmer and Frances (Peters) Dore.
Bob was a graduate of Orono High School and Husson University with a BS degree in accounting. He was part owner of Bradbury Memorial Nursing home and Down East Accounting for many years and worked in public accounting for over 50 years.
Bob was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish for many years.
Bob served on the board of the Bangor Area Homeless Shelter for 12 years. He enjoyed skiing at Sugarloaf for over 50 years, spending time with many dear friends and traveling extensively. For over 20 years he traveled to LaVictoria, Dominican on mission trips with a group from Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon, FL. He lived between Bangor and Boynton Beach, FL.
Surviving are his sister, Elaine Howe ; a niece Julie Jennette and husband Michael all of Carrabassett Valley; nephew Chris Howe and wife Kelly of Amesbury, MA.; and other nieces and nephews; very special friends whom he thought of as family, Vanessa Kunnen of Palm Harbor, FL; and Victor Hernandez of LaVictoria, Dominican Republic.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. following the services.
