Robert C. Lounsbury Sr., 91, beloved husband of Vina (Johnson) Lounsbury for 71 years, died at his home on March 25, 2020. He was born in Old Town on April 23, 1928, the son of the late Ethel (Lounsbury) Burns and the late Kenneth Wood Sr., and the grandson of the late Emile and Mabel Garceau.
Robert attended the Bradley and Old Town school system. He served in the United States Navy from 1946-1948. Robert retired from James River in 1990 after 46 ½ years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #84 of Orono.
In addition to his wife, Vina, Robert is survived by four children, Robert Lounsbury Jr. of Old Town, Peggyann (Blaine) Nason of Olamon, Vickie Love of Old Town, and Kim (Phillip) Demers of Old Town; four grandchildren, Tracy (Frank) Lewis of Pooler, GA, Daniel (Ann) Love of Hermon, Ty Demers and Jillian Demers both of Old Town; four great grandchildren, Emily Love of Bangor, Lyndsay Love of Hermon, and Andrew and Samantha Lewis, Pooler, GA. ; one step grandchild and four step great grandchildren also a special nephew, Preston (Bunky) Stuart, Jr of Red Bluff, CA.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Charlene Burns, and Norma Rand; brother, Preston Stuart, Sr; half brother, Kenneth Wood, Jr. He was also predeceased by five “special” sisters, Frances Richard, Beatrice Mercier, Dorothy Bell, Madaline Kelley, and Arelene LeBlanc.
Services will be private for the family.
