Bangor – Robert L. Marquis Sr., 76 died peacefully October 30, 2015 surrounded by his loving sons. He was born March 12, 1939 in East Corinth, the son of Dennis and Catherine (Bechard) Marquis.
Bob attended Bangor High School. He served in the Maine Air National Guard. He spent many years working as a concrete laborer and was involved in the building of many local mills, Eastern Maine Medical Center and the renovation of the Bangor House. After retiring from the laborer’s union he worked at Hertz Rent-A-Car. He enjoyed going to the movies immensely and frequenting local restaurants where all the workers knew him. Most important to Bob was spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was known as an extremely hard worker, devoted Husband, Father, and Pepére. He always had a smile and loved life to the fullest. Rob, Joe and Chris wish to thank the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Beacon Hospice Care and Eastside Rehab Center for the compassionate care of our Dad.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife Sheila (Thorne) Marquis, three brothers, Gerald, Gilbert and Dennis; and two sisters, Thelma Dow and Anita Fortier. He is survived by three sons, Robert Jr., and spouse Jennifer, and their two children Mason and Emily of Windham, and Joseph and Christopher of Bangor; two sisters, Bernice Newcomb and Sylvia Gallant, both of Bangor; and many nieces and nephews whom were all very special to him.
