Robert Arthur Murray
Sept. 5, 1944~~Dec. 1, 2021.

On Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, this world lost an incredibly strong, brave, kind, generous, talented, loving, hard-working, devoted and comical man.

Robert Arthur Murray was promoted into heaven and reunited with the love of his life, while surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Bangor, on Sept. 5, 1944 and lived his entire 77 years in the Queen City that he was proud to call his home. Raised on the iconic Hancock St., he was 1 of 7 children that filled the home that is also fondly remembered as “Murray's Mobil”. He learned the value of hard work at a young age and he was always very proud of his Italian heritage.

Bob graduated from Bangor High School in 1962 and went on to spend many years working at Viner Brother's Shoe Factory. He was one of the best machine operators there and used his speed and skill to help produce hundreds of shoes, daily. He later went to work with GTE/Osram Sylvania, as a Lead Quality Control Inspector, until his retirement. Bob spent the last several years working as a Custodial Substitute for the Bangor School Dept., a perfect "retirement job" that he truly enjoyed. He made several meaningful friendships while working there and was always known as "The Candy Man," as he was always passing out mints and candy.

Bob enjoyed golfing, working with his hands and staying busy. He could always be found puttering, fixing and building things and we never knew what his next project might be. He was a very talented man and if it was broken, we knew he would find a way to fix it.

Dad mostly enjoyed time spent with his family and his Wednesday big breakfasts with the Fairway Auto crew and his Fridays at the shop, with his number 1 son. He truly lived for his family and was the most devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He not only lived his best life but he always made the best out of life. He not only taught us how to live life to the fullest, but he also showed us. He was deeply loved by all that had the pleasure of knowing him and he will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we will miss you, until we meet again.
Bob is survived by his two children, Tony Murray and his wife Nicole, of Hancock and Julie Pelletier and her husband James, of Holden. He also loved his special friend and 2nd daughter, Dawn Smith of Bangor.
Bob also leaves a legacy of four adored grandchildren- Dylan Murray of Holden, Evan Murray of Ellsworth, Chloe Hooper of Hancock and Robert "Robby" Pelletier, of Holden.

In addition to his parents, Louis C. Murray and Adele F. Murray, he was predeceased by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Audrey M. Murray; his brother Roger D. Murray and one very special sister, Joyce Willey.

He also leaves behind his four brothers- Charlie, Frank, John and Richard and their wives, and several nieces and nephews.

The family invites friends and family to join them on Jan. 9th at 1pm at the River Church, 146 Center St. Bangor, to celebrate a life well lived and to enjoy food and refreshments, following the service.
