Robert Nickerson, 86, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born November 25, 1937 to parents Alonzo and Ruth (Schultz) Nickerson.

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by: his wife, Roberta Alexander; son, Michael Nickerson; sister,
Ruthann Belanger; brothers, Norman, Donald Bruce, and Albert Theodore Nickerson. He is survived by brother, Charles Nickerson and his wife, Kathryn; devoted sisters, Mona Nickerson, Marlene Hooper, Diana Hodgdon, and Betty Kane; many nieces and nephews, as well as his late wife’s family.

Robert loved his country and had many talents and interests. He spent his early years driving tractor trailers before starting his career with Bath Iron Works, where he was employed 42 years as a Shipbuilder. Robert enjoyed working with his tractor, riding his four-wheeler, and spending time with family. He was a generous man, donating to multiple charities including the Native American Indian Fund, Wounded Warrior, Shriners, and St. Jude’s. He was memorable to all that met him and he will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Josephs Hospice, especially Christine, Judy, Phyllis, and Chaplain Regina, for their care and compassion; as well as his niece, Candace Jones and her husband, Jeffery, for welcoming Robert into their home.
