Robert A. “Bob” Parsons, 75, died June 16, 2016 at a Bangor hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 27, 1941 in Veazie son of Albert and Katherine (Hurd) Parsons.
Bob attended Bangor schools and was a skidder operator working in the woods. In more recent years, he was employed at Spot-Bilt in the shoe manufacturing business. He will be remembered for enjoying his family, wood-working and vegetable gardening. He looked forward to his senior luncheons in Hampden. Bob was a long time member of the Essex St. Baptist Church, served on the board of directors and was a deacon emeritus.
Surviving are his two children, Vicki and her life partner, Gloria Champeon , of Monroe, Robin Bridges and her husband Ronald of Winterport; four grandchildren, Keith Downs, Keeley Downs, Dylan Bridges and Kaleb Bridges; 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler Downs, Kayden Downs and Deja Rafferty Downs; one sister, Mary Parker and her husband, Dick, four brothers, Phillip Parsons and his wife Emily, Melvin Parsons and his wife, Helen, Edward Parsons and David Parsons; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Ginn) Parsons; three brothers, Theodore, Harold and William.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7 pm. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Essex St. Baptist Church, 82 Essex St., Bangor, where a memorial service will be held 10 am. Wednesday June 22, 2016, with the Rev. Randy Wilbur, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
