BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA - Robert Michael Willig, 88, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend died on July 10, 2024, having lived a full and happy life.
Bob was born June 24, 1936, in Buffalo, New York, to Elizabeth and Charlie Willig. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and The Harvard Business School. He was an officer in the United States Navy. Bob was married for 50 years to the love of his life, the late Joyce (Silver) Willig.
Bob lived the majority of his life in Fairfield, Connecticut where he was a business executive. After Joyce’s liver transplant, Bob and Joyce educated countless people about transplantation. In later years, he and Joyce lived in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Bob loved his family, history, travel, and reading the daily newspaper. He shared a knack with Joyce for making and maintaining friendships with some of the kindest people around.
Bob leaves behind his children, Alan Willig and Jerilyn Willig; his sister, Sharon Willig; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Silver and Janie Silver and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, 118 Center Street, Bangor. Immediately following the service, he will be interred at the Beth Israel Cemetery, located on Severance Rd. off of Mount Hope Ave. in Bangor.
