ROBERT V. WRIGHT JR.
BANGOR & BROOKS – Robert V. Wright Jr., 53, passed away Saturday November 23, 2013 at a Bangor hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 11, 1960, in Oneida, New York, the son of Robert V. and Bertha (Hitchings) Wright Sr. Bob grew up in Sherrill, New York and graduated from V.V.S. in Verona the class of 1978. At the age of 18 enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until 1992 at which time he enlisted in the Air National Guard and served until 2008 retiring as a Master Sergeant. His years in the military took him many places such as; Arizona, Texas, England, Japan, the Netherlands and New Hampshire. Bob also worked for the United States Postal Service and was a Union Steward for Local 301. He enjoyed golfing, biking, playing cards and was a big fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. In addition to his parents he leaves behind his loving wife Sarina Roche Wright of Brooks, three daughters; Halle Wright of Sutton, New Hampshire, Meagan Baker, her husband Dan and their daughters Allison and Abby of Naples, Courtney Lorrain, Brandon Upton and their son Bryant Upton of Orland, a stepdaughter Holly Roche of Brooklyn, New York, a stepson David Anthony Roche of Brooks, six siblings; Michael, Paula, Susan, David and his wife Mona Wright all of Sherrill, Kevin Wright and his wife Michelle of Albuquerque, New Mexico, James Wright and his wife Melissa of Chittenango, New York, uncle and aunt Dick and Jeanne Wright of Manchester, Connecticut as, well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind many friends who will miss him very much. Friends may call from 11-1 PM and 3-5 PM Saturday November 30, 2013 at the Bangor Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. where a service will be held at 5PM with the Rev. Ron Libby officiating. A memorial service with military honors will also be celebrated 11 AM Saturday December 7, 2013 at the First Congregational Church of Brooks Church of Christ, 24 Veterans Highway, Brooks , with the Rev. Connie Insley officiating. A reception will follow at the Varney Building.
