Hampden - Roland "Rollie" Brown, 89, of Hampden, passed away on February 25, 2024, in Bangor, Maine. He was born in Bucksport, on November 25, 1934, to Kenneth Roland and Marion Brown.
Rollie served in the National Guard and was a dedicated, hardworking individual. He delivered oil for Clendennings in Bangor, and worked at Grant's Dairy for many years as a foreman and shop steward. His commitment extended to part-time jobs as a truck driver and finished carpenter.
An accomplished golfer, Rollie enjoyed spending time tending to his large garden and growing the sweetest corn. His generosity and dedication were evident in his role as a great provider for his family.
Rollie is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown, to whom he was happily married for 68 years; daughter, Kathlyn Worzel of Hampden; son, Richard Brown and wife, Jeanie; grandchildren, Michael Brown of Fredericksburg, VA; Darren Brown and wife, Rachel Atkinson, of Arlington, VA; sister, Marilyn Costain and husband, Ed; sister, Nancy Thibodeau; brother, Herman Brown and wife, Judy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Margie Whitten.
Rollie will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, generosity, and love for his family will be cherished forever.
