Roland Olmstead

March 18, 1941 — December 14, 2014

Roland Quinn Olmstead, Jr., passed
away peacefully on December 14, 2014, after
a brief illness. He was born in Brewer on
March 18, 1941, the second child of
Alice (Estes) and Roland Q. Olmstead, Sr.
He grew up in Veazie, graduating from
Brewer High School in 1959. Being one
of the Brewer Witches was something in
which he took pride.

After serving his country in the US Air
Force, Roland made his home in
Brighton, MA, and in 2008, he retired
from a long career at Yale Electric in
Boston. Upon returning to his childhood
home in Veazie, he enjoyed his
retirement discussing politics, following
his favorite sports teams, and playing
golf, often with his brother David, or
nephew, Chris.

Roland is survived by his siblings,
Phyllis Leeman of Veazie, Marjorie
McCann and her husband Paul of
Brewer, David Olmstead of Bucksport,
and Lois Quinn of Surry, 7 nieces and
nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews,
and countless others whose lives he
impacted. He was predeceased by his
parents, his sister Louise, and his
brother Avery.

The family would like to thank David Rawcliffe DO, of St. Joseph Family Medicine, Karin Giordano MD, of CancerCare of Maine, Heather Short RN, of St. Joseph Hospice. A very special thank you to the caring Waterman Rehabilitation staff, Gail, Vicky, Carol, Kurt, Julie, and Nola.

Services for Roland will be private for the family. Although we mourn the loss of Rollie, we feel that the Universe is gaining someone very special. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.

Good night sweet prince
