Rose had a curiosity of life that led her to an array of varied interests from cake decorating to bowling where she won many awards. She was an excellent amateur artist. Her family treasurers the artwork she created mostly of scenes of Maine and the coast where she spent many happy hours with Annette and Artie. She also learned American Sign Language so that she could communicate with her brother who was born deaf. Rose was active and drove her car well into her 90s. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she challenged herself to stay active through walking (outside when the weather allowed), yoga and climbing stairs. She was always up for a game of Scrabble and knew about every two and three letter word. She played cribbage and loved puzzles. She was an avid reader until her eyesight no longer allowed her to read. She kept up on current events and was interested in life and people. If Rose was your friend, you had a friend for life. She will be missed by many.

A service to celebrate Rose's life will be held at Brookings-Smith later this spring with the date and time to be announced.
