Rosella Frey

BANGOR -- Rosella Mae (Torrey) Frey, 81, passed away Dec. 31, 2018, after a long, hard battle with illness, never losing her beautiful smile nor the twinkle in her eye. Rose was born July 8, 1937, the daughter of Fred Torrey and Victoria Pyzinski Bouchard. She had two sisters, Katherine Gray and Merry Briggs, and a brother, Fred Torrey Jr.

Rose is survived by son Robert Bissell and his wife, Theresa, of Orrington; son Charles W. "Billy" Bissell and his wife, Lynn, of Brewer; daughter Judy (Bissell) Giroux of Orrington; grandchildren Patrick Cole, Alicia Bissell, Matthew Bissell, Judy (Ring) Long, Heather Ring, Angela (Ring) Nelson, William Bissell, Jeremy Bissell, Anthony Bissell, Kristin Giroux and Kira (Giroux) Shaw; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, Robert Bissell and Augustin Frey; a son, Barry Bissell; and a daughter, Terry Lee Ring of Orrington.

Rose is fondly remembered by special lifelong friend Phyllis Malone and many other special friends and staff at Ross Manor’s Engel Place, especially Marcia, who brightened her days with love and comfort. Also providing their beloved “Mamie” with so much love until heaven called were great-granddaughters Seanna and Tiara, alongside their moms.
Rose’s strength, compassion and loving heart will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2019, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer. Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 12 noon until time of service, Friday.
