Rosemary Kosobud

February 12, 1931 — February 22, 2022

BANGOR – Rosemary L. (Maciag) Kosobud, 91, died February 22, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 12, 1931 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Stephen J. and Leona M. (Foster) Maciag.

Rosemary graduated from East High School in Madison, Wisconsin, Class of 1949. She married Carl J. Kosobud in 1953, and together raised six children.

In 1964, Rosemary and her family moved from Madison, Wisconsin to Bangor, Maine, where she worked for many years as a floral designer at Brockway’s Flower Shop in Bangor. Rosemary worked for over 20 years for the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer, and also worked for many years in the dental offices of Dr. Brookings and Dr. Knaide. Rosemary was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Rosemary was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Carl; a daughter, Gale Poulin; a son, Jon Kosobud; a sister-in-law, Sharon Maciag.

She is survived by her children, Carl Kosobud; Lori Jonson; Paul Kosobud and wife, Donna; Craig Kosobud and Vicki Churchill; grandchildren, Sarah Ware and husband, Jeffrey; Kalina Jonson; Jon Kosobud and wife, Melissa; Matthew Poulin and wife, Madeline; Kyle Kosobud and wife, Jessica; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Stephenie Jensen and husband, Lawrence; brother, Michael Maciag; nieces and nephews; a special friend, Elaine Carlson.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. March 3, 2022, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio Street, Bangor.
