Russell Claude Crandall, 72, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was born November 25, 1948 to Thelma (Dunfee) and Claude S. Crandall.
Russell graduated from Oakfield High School, Class of 1966, and served his country in the US Army. He worked for Louisiana-Pacific. Later he worked as a trusted courier for many years. Russell loved the Lord and loved to attend church. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan.
Russell is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine (Turney) Crandall; a daughter, Minnie and her husband David Boles of Charleston. Minnie and Dave cared for her father for the past three months, and it was at their home he passed away. Russ leaves a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Art Collier of Hampden, a sister, Elaine Small of Island Falls, a brother and sister-in-law, Mike Crandall and Cheryl Peters Sullivan of Oakfield and Manchester, CT. His brother Mike was his best friend, and he referred to Cheryl as his favorite sister-in-law; a brother-in-law Osman Turney and wife Trudy, and two sisters-in-law, Judith Turney and Arlene Graves. He loved his five grandchildren, Jonah, Hannah, Abigail, Benjamin and Titus; he leaves behind nieces, one nephew and many cousins, and one special cousin, Steve Rideout; and special friends, Bruce “Skippy” Park, Lavonne Young, and Mary and Bill Sweeney. He was pre-deceased by his first wife and Minnie’s mother, Priscilla (Brannen) Crandall and his parents.
