Ruth Miner

October 24, 1918 — November 28, 2013

EDDINGTON and ORRINGTON – Ruth Evelyn Miner, 95, wife of the late Thomas “Stanley” Miner, Sr., died Nov. 28, 2013 at a Brewer healthcare center. She was born October 24, 1918 in Bangor, daughter of Harry C. and Maud I. (Clark) Junkins.

Ruth was a member of the North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church and secretary of the Ladies Aid of the East Orrington Congregational Church for a number of years. She was an avid supporter of both churches and their church fairs and enjoyed her house plants, gardens and feeding the birds. Ruth will be fondly remembered for the beautiful cards and notes she sent to many.

Surviving are one son, Thomas S. Miner, Jr. and his wife, Jane A. of Holden; two daughters, Pauline R. Prahm of Orrington and Evelyn A. Miner of Brewer; seven grandchildren, Daniel Miner of Washington, Kelley Maloney of Vassalboro, Michelle McLeod of Bangor, Alicia Tozier of Orrington, Gary Miner of Old Town, Christopher Miner of Bucksport and Mandy McFadden of Oregon; eight great grandchildren, Anthony Harmon, Katherine and Angus McLeod, Gavon McFadden, Kyle and Nicholas Tozier, Cayden and Dawson Miner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Stan, Ruth was predeceased by three daughters, Judy L. Miner, Jeannine M. Miner and Jacquelyn A. Miner; grandson, Aaron Miner; great-grandson Gabriel Tozier; four brothers, Kenneth Junkins, Philip Junkins, Charles Junkins and Harold Junkins; son-in-law, Charles “Rollie” Prahm Jr.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer where a funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday, Dec. 4 with the Rev. Kate Nicol, pastor of the North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, Brewer, immediately following the service Wednesday. Private interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Ruth in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the North Brewer Eddington United Methodist Church, 31 Main Road, Eddington, ME 04428.
