Ryan M Lewis, 42, died unexpectedly as a result of a car accident in Bradenton, FL on February 21, 2023. Ryan was born on March 10, 1980 to Paula Maxim and Elvin Lewis.
Ryan attended Bangor and Mt. View Schools. After high school, Ryan served in the Navy on a supply ship, enjoying his world travels in the U. S. Navy . Ryan was an outstanding cook, with family and friends enjoying his culinary skills. His mom loved his from scratch chocolate pie, Kevin and Aaron loved Ryan’s BBQ. His Florida grandparents loved all his cooking and looked forward to dinner each day that Ryan always prepared from scratch. Every year, Paula and her husband, Thomas Duarte, throw a huge lobster bake. Ryan could be depended on to cook the lobsters, clams, and corn. He was a great organizer of this cookout for family and friends, making it a success.
Fishing was a passion of Ryan’s, whether on the ice, fresh or salt water, and fly fishing with his hand-tied flies. Ryan was always up for the adventure. Ryan also enjoyed deer hunting. He loved the outdoors, which included hiking, camping, attending concerts, and bonfires with friends. Ryan had a infectious sense of humor. If there was a prank or joke to be delivered, Ryan was right on it. He was at his happiest when he was at family gatherings. We looked forward to Ryan telling jokes and stories. He took great pride in creating his ugly sweater at Christmas.
Ryan enjoyed helping others, always willing to lend a hand. He was a great carpenter, landscaper, and handyman. We always knew he’d be there to help us. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We love you Ryan, know you will never be forgotten, even with the great void in our hearts.
Surviving Ryan, in addition to his parents, is his daughter; Summer Lewis. Ryan moved to Washington State to be near his daughter for four years and saw her graduate. Also surviving are his brothers; Kevin Lewis; Aaron Lewis and wife, Courtney, and their children, Dominic and Sadie, whom Ryan loved dearly. Ryan’s grandparents, Donald and Bertha Maxim, and Adrienne Hubbard also survive him. Ryan had recently moved to Bradenton, FL to help take loving care of grandparents, Donnie and Bert.
