It is with heavy hearts that we inform the community that on August 11, 2016, Sally died peacefully. She was surrounded by her loving family. It was a testament to Sally that those she loved so dearly and those that loved her back were with her when she passed away. She was born March 13, 1933 in Dover-Foxcroft, daughter of Jacob and Verna (Babin) Alpert.
Sally was the family protector, mentor, disciplinarian, mother, and best friend. Her entire family would seek her out as their trusted confidant. Her insight, wisdom, and non-judgmental counsel was invaluable to us all, including her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sally felt she had a good life and made many friends along the way. Those included her tennis teams, line dancing friends, and others that were attracted by her joy of life.
Sally is survived by her son Eric White, her daughter Belinda Judson and her husband Bobby, her grandsons Aaron Slocum, Joshua White and his wife Jessica, Matthew White and his wife Callie, and her great grandchildren Savannah and Elijah Slocum, Melinda and Asher White. She is also survived by her loving brother Bob Alpert and his wife Sidsel, and her dear sister in law, Alberta Washburn. Sally was predeceased by her husbands, Richard O. White and George E. Clifford, her brother Maurice Alpert.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 3-5pm Saturday, August 13 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday, August 14, 2016 with the Reverend Carl Schreiber, pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating.
