Sandra Boynton

August 20, 1951 — May 31, 2022

Sandra Therese Boynton, 70, passed away at home on May 31, 2022 after battling incurable cancer. She was born in Van Buren, August 20, 1951, the daughter of Yvon and Arlene (Jacques) Beaulieu. She held varied jobs after college including forklift operator, quality control technician, Atlantic salmon fish hatchery manager and medical technologist operating a HPLC at the Medical College of Virginia. Later she spun wool and other exotic fibers into skeins for sale. However, her late life’s passion was weaving wool and other natural fibers into cloth products which she sold at the Maine Crafts Association Gardner store. Sandy was an accomplished weaver. She started studying ethnic weaving, collecting samples from around the world as well as books on dyeing and weaving techniques of native peoples.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Alan, is her brother Peter Beaulieu and his wife, Mary, of Anderson, South Carolina, their two married daughters and their children.

There will be no visitation or funeral. Donations in Sandy’s name may be made to the Brewer Public Library, 100 South Main Street, Brewer, ME 04412. Donations should include Sandy’s name as well as the name of her weaving group, Northern Sky Weavers Guild which set up the memorial fund.
