Sandra Lynn Fowler, 81, of Unity, Maine, passed away at home, July 26th, 2019 after a long illness with her family by her side.
She is the daughter of the late Grace and Ralph Cust, and was also predeceased by her brother, Stephen Cust.
Sandra graduated from Bangor High School in 1956. She attended Husson College School of Business where she received her Associate Degree, and then attended the University of Maine at Orono where she received a BA in Education. She was an elementary school teacher in Brewer, Maine for 27 years, then taught English as a Second Language for 6 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Wells and her husband Bryan Wells, of Old Town, and her daughter Robin Fowler Pratt and her wife Corry Pratt, of Unity.
Sandy loved studying and learning about science and nature. She was a veracious reader and loved nothing better than holding a real book. When she transitioned to reading with a Kindle, she read 827 e-books in her last six years of life. Her greatest joy came from her 2 daughters. She loved talking about their accomplishments with friends and loved ones and was never shy to share with complete strangers.
