Sandra Rocco

BANGOR & DEXTER - Sandra “Sandy” J. Rocco, 67, passed away April 23, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 14, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT, the daughter of Leroy W. and Mary E. (Ronco) Drew.

Sandy married the love of her life Anthony “Tony” Rocco on June 24, 1978 in Connecticut, where they met and where she worked for Metro North Railroad for 20 years, retiring in 1995. They moved to Maine in 2000 to be near Sandy’s mother.

Sandy was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Orono since 2012. She had a great passion for genealogy; she and her sister enjoyed many hours together filling out their family tree. Sandy also loved music and was a talented singer. Her other interests included jewelry, needlework, old movies, and history.

In addition to her mother and husband she is survived by her sister, Cheryl Shell and her husband, John Closson, of Bangor; three nephews, Joe, Brian and Philip; a niece, Noelle; and numerous cousins. Services will be private. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
