Hampden - Scott G. Homstead, 61 passed away peacefully at his Hampden home with his wife and son by his side on November 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 15, 1960, the son of George E. Homstead and Shirley M. (Parsons) Homstead.

Scott was a man of countless talents and he touched the lives of many. He graduated from Hampden Academy, Class of 1978. He was a Veteran and proud to have served with the US Coast Guard.

Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Scott would agree that he was one of the kindest, sweetest, open minded, and caring men. He was charming, witty, charismatic, and incredibly funny. He was a gifted craftsman and enjoyed woodworking, playing with his sawmill, strumming his guitar, and riding his Harley. He was passionate about teaching his knowledge and skills to the younger generation. Scott was always eager to share “useless information, in case you’re ever on a game show,” with anyone who would listen.

Scott was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife, Angel (Nadeau) Homstead; are his son, Jacob Homstead, of Hampden; his daughter Paige Barteaux Marden, of Hampden; his step daughter Destiny Doyle, of Hermon; six grandchildren, one great grandchild; his mother, Shirley Homstead, of Hampden; his brother Edward Homstead, and sister-in-law, Marie, of Hampden; his sister Tammy (Homstead) Carlin, of California; many nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his father, George Homstead; and his son, Brandon Homstead.

Scott experienced many challenges in his cancer journey and he was determined to never give up. His wife was his greatest advocate and caregiver and he was supported by many family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following people for their compassion and support for Scott and his wife; Dr. Himanshu Malhotra, and Dawn Davenport, RN.
