Scott Preston

Hampden-Scott Evander Preston,45, passed away unexpected on July 4th, 2021 with his wife Elizabeth E. "Libbie" by his side at their home. Scott was born June 12th, 1976 son of Patricia F. (Perkins) and Raymond D. Preston Jr. Scott was a 1994 graduate of Hampden Academy. Scott played football his sophomore year.
After school Scott worked for Huhtamaki Mill in Waterville. He had his own trucking business. He also worked for Hougton and Daigle. At the time of death, he and his wife, Elizabeth, owned Wellman Paving since October of 2005, which they were very successful with. They were well liked by many. Dad was stubborn and strong minded, but also had the biggest and most generous heart. He would do anything and everything to help and be there for the people he loved. His laugh was the most contagious thing and all anyone could ever do was smile. All he ever wanted was for us to have everything and more and we got that just because he was our father. We love you and hope you're finally at peace and with Uncle Bum because that's all we ever wanted for you. Ryleigh,Evan and Hayleigh Scott is survived by his children, Ryleigh, Evander, and Hayleigh of Hampden; his parents Patricia Preston of Winterport and Raymond Preston Jr of Brewer; Soon to be Step Father, Andrew Ginn “Pops”; one Sister, Samantha Preston, and her son, Jacob Thibodeau of Corinth; in-laws, Jim and Gayle Conley; Sister-in-law, Grace Nash and Charlie Nash, and son, Chase Nash; brother and sister-in law, Thomas and Erica Hutchinson, and niece, Abigail Hutchinson, and nephew, TJ ( Kaly) Hutchinson; nephews, Dylan Dodge,Logan Hafford; special Uncle Paul Perkins and son, Timothy Perkins and family; special Uncle, Dennis and Aunt Laura Preston, and their children Justin, Jennifer and her husband Jerry, children Johanna and Jordan; special Aunt Pam and Uncle Charles; many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Scott was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin Preston; his maternal grandparents, Paul Perkins Sr. and Wilma Lawless; paternal grandparents, Raymond Preston sr. and wife, Glenda Preston and his great-grandfather, Evander Harriman; his Aunt Lynn Perkins; cousins Tj Perkins, Justin Woodbury, Joanne Boucher. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. Please join us for a celebration of Scott and Libbie’s life 2pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Skehan Recreation Center, 1 Main Street North, Hampden. Burial directly after services will be private for the family only.
