Columbia Falls – Sewell B. Stevenson, 71, died at a local hospital February 26, 2021. He was born March 6, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Oscar and Omer (Rowe) Stevenson.
Sewell attended Bangor High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a mail handler for the USPS. Sewell was an avid sportsman, he was a hunter and fisherman. He took great pride in his gardening, and he loved to cook. He was famous for his biscuits!
He was predeceased by his brothers, Duane, Freeland, and Vaughn.
He is survived by his two sisters, Laverna Young, of Hollis, ME, and Lucretia Howard, of Cherryfield, ME; three sons, Sewell, Shaun, and Eric; daughter, Stacy; grandchildren, Kristin, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Emma, and Eric II; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sewell was a friend to everyone he met. He would gladly give the shirt off his back for someone in need.
Sewell loved spending time with his best friends, Mike, Clarence and Roy, they could often be found chatting for hours on his porch. He will be greatly missed by so many in and around Columbia Falls.
A graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
