Sharon Lee (McDermott) Moody, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2015. She was born July 18, 1949, in Bangor, to Anita Maxine (Moody) and James McDermott.
Sharon grew up in Bangor, graduating from Bangor High School, class of 1967. She married the love of her life, Michael, on March 29, 1969. She worked for many years as a phlebotomist at EMMC, and was well known for her gentleness and care. Sharon was a well loved member of Bible Baptist Church, Bangor, for more than 20 years. Sharon was exceptionally devoted to her children and family, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, Chaplain (CPT) Michael Christian Moody and his wife, Victoria, of Fort Lee, VA; daughter, Amber and her husband, Buddy Lawrence, of Brewer; seven grandchildren, Alex, Elisabeth, Josiah, Moriah, Mary Bethany, Abigail and Aaron; sister, Rosalie McDermott, of Rockland; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sharon is predeceased by her husband, Michael; and her sisters, Marilyn McTigue, Joyce Lambert, and Carolee Smith.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6-8 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 1 pm, January 7, 2015 with Pastor Artie Dean, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to share in conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service.
