Sharon Watters passed away on August 9, 2024, due to complications from a stroke. She was born October 12, 1955, the only child of Eugene and Dorothy (Fekety) Merrill of Bangor.
Sharon grew up in the Bangor school system and graduated from Husson College with a degree in Secretarial Studies in 1975. In 1976, she married Daniel J. Watters of Brewer. They settled down roots and had 2 children, Erin and Ryan. After several years in banking, Sharon was hired by the City of Brewer Tax Office in 1988. She served the residents of Brewer for 30 years until her retirement in 2018. She was loved by the residents as well as her coworkers.
Sharon was a long-time sports fan. She never missed a Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, or Pat's game! She never missed a game of her children's sports either. She loved spending summers at her camp on Holbrook Pond, her tropical cruises, and vacationing in Florida. She also made the drive to Colorado a few times and saw the most beautiful sights she had ever seen.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her great grandparents, Percy & Rita (Colson) Merrill.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Daniel J. Watters of Bangor; daughter, Erin Watters of Holden; son, Ryan Watters of Bangor and Colorado; grandson, Bailey Chretien of Bangor; and her beloved dogs, Judy & Winnie.
Funeral Prayers and Rite of Committal will be prayed at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 1 PM.
