Sheila Lorraine Cote “Cota”

Sheila Cote, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2019 with her loving family by her side at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor, after a long illness. Born April 7, 1943 and raised in Eddington the daughter of Chester and Edith (Roberts) Rand. She married Allen Cote “Cota” and became a military wife and the mother of four daughters.
Sheila was an accomplished seamstress making all of her daughter’s dresses for school and how proud she was to send them off each day. She often received praise from her daughter’s teachers about their meticulous appearance. She opened her own gift shop, Bear Country Gifts in Eddington, in which she personally handcrafted quilts, dolls, wood working items, stained glass and much more. She was extremely talented in her workmanship. Sheila’s creativity extended into her passion for decorating, cooking and entertaining family and friends for holidays and special occasions.
Sheila along with her husband after retiring, spent the last 22 years wintering in Ormand Beach and then Plant City, FL.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Allen; four daughters Sherry and her fiancé Todd Michaud of Lucerne, Deborah and her husband Ted Jellison of Brewer, Corrine of Bangor, Leisa of Eddington; four grandchildren Bradford Moleon, Kristin Lounsberry, Sarah Jellison, and Lindsey Jellison; three great grandchildren Kadence, Cohen and Cameron; son in law Jeff Ashey and his daughter Chausey; one brother Clint Rand and his wife Sue of Puget Sound, WA/; a brother-in-law Robert Cota and his wife Peggy of Bangor; a sister-in-law Donna Cota Walker of South Portland; several nieces and nephews; special friends Bob and Donna Lagassee of Newport and her devoted canine companion Little Bit.
She was predeceased by her brother Chet Rand and beloved grandson Joshua McKay.
Special thank you and appreciation to the Maine Veterans Home for the love and care that was given to our mother.
Services and interment will be announced in the spring.
