BANGOR - Sheldon L. Corson, 64, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 6, 2019, after a long battle with bladder cancer. He was born May 27, 1954, the son of Charles P. and Juanita (Patten) Corson.
Sheldon graduated from Hampden Academy in 1972, and pursued a lifelong career with The Lane Construction Corporation. He rose from timekeeper to plant manager in Belfast, ME, making many close friends along the way, and retiring in 2014 after 39 years.
Sheldon was a lifelong history buff, known for his "Mainer" work ethic, his quick wit, and his many jokes. He was also extremely proud of his daughters and their accomplishments.
Sheldon was predeceased by his father; as well as his wife of 14 years, Jeri Corson, who he cared for tenderly through an extended illness. He is survived by his mother, Juanita Corson of Brewer; daughter, Heather Corson and her husband, Marlon Alarcón, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Alarcón, of Rockland, ME; daughter, Lani Corson and husband, Kenneth Ziegler, of Astoria, NY; and stepdaughter, Alicia McPhail, of Fort Mill, SC, and her children, Chloe, Jackson and Julia.
An informal celebration will be held Sunday, January 13, 2019 at CoeSpace, 48 Columbia St., Bangor, Maine, 04401. Visitors can drop by anytime between 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. to share memories, music, and stories, and to toast a life well lived.
