Carmel – Sheryl Ann Bragg, 68, died after a brief illness October 31, 2015, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 23, 1947 in Bangor, the daughter of Amos Coty and Edna (Crosby) Sargent.
Sheryl grew up in the Bucksport area, graduated from Bucksport High School, and received her Associate’s degree from Beal College. She and her husband Darrell bought a store in 1970 and successfully ran it for many years. After they sold it, they bought a pet shop which they owned and operated together for 5 years. Later, Sheryl worked for Allstate Insurance. Sheryl loved being around horses. She always had riding horses, and for 12 years, she and Darrell owned race horses. Sheryl will always be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Sheryl was predeceased by her special aunt and uncle, Howard and Ruth Crosby. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Darrell Bragg; daughter Sherry Clapp, her husband Michael, and their children Matthew and Elizabeth; son Darren Bragg, wife Melissa, and their 3 boys Jordan, Daniel, and Wesley; and several cousins.
Graveside services will be held 1PM Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Highland Cemetery, on Route 2 in Carmel, with Rev. Mark Rustin, pastor of the Carmel Union Congregational Church officiating.
