Glenburn - Sonja passed away peacefully at Northern Light Hospital in Bangor on the night of November 26, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born May 11, 1943, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Oscar and Thyrle (Davis) Partinen.
Sonja was a kind, loving person who cared about so many and so many cared and loved her. She worked for Canteen Service for many years. She had recipes that no one could duplicate no matter how hard we tried – her special ingredient was love. She loved to sew, read, and knit dishcloths for us and was always worried about her hair. She was involved with us in Brownies and Girl Scouts. Sonja was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, gram, great-gram, confidant, and friend. Sonja has left her mark on all who knew her and will be sorely missed. She took care of others and often did so while not taking her own health into consideration.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her niece, Heather McMillan. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Stanley Levensailor of Glenburn; daughter, Shelley Levensailior and partner, Micheal Doucette of Old Town; daughter, Stacey Levensailor of Glenburn; granddaughter, Apryl and her husband, Donald Gourley; great-grandson, Brantley, and soon to be great-great-grandson, Ronan along with her sister Peggy Partinen of Ellsworth, and the numerous family members and friends she cared so much about.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Northern Light, for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided for Sonja and the whole family.
A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
