Stephen Sterns Weymouth

February 19, 1945 — February 5, 2020

Kenduskeag and Glenburn – Stephen S. Weymouth, 74, passed peacefully, February 5, 2020, surrounded by his family. He was born February 19, 1945, to Frederick Nelson Barker and Millie Hatch, adopted by Wilfred and Lola (Archer) Weymouth.

Stephen grew up in Bradford. He worked in forestry and did farm work until getting a job with the University of Maine Facilities Management, which he worked at for 32 and ½ years until his retirement in 1999.
Stephen was a lifetime member of the Mystic Tie Grange, in Kenduskeag, where he helped in the kitchen and Bingo calling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Stephen’s favorite snack was peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches. He also loved his wife’s brown bread.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Rita (Graves) Weymouth; and grandson, Alex Malone.

He is survived by his sister, Mary McKinnon; sister-in-law, Eileen and husband, David Shaw; brother-in-law, Charles Graves III; sons, Eric Nason and wife, Sally, Walter Weymouth and fiancée, Melissa Crockett; grandchildren, Ruben Niles, Zackery Malone, Jorge Malone; great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Chase, Ayden; nieces and nephews, Alicia Dunn, Jennifer McKinnon, Greg Arsenault, Dorinda Weeks, Wayne McAlpine, Paul McAlpine, Scott McAlpine, and Dana McAlpine Jr., Jennifer Shaw, Chris Shaw, Gregory Graves, Savannah Graves; and special long-time friends, Lloyd and Eunice Ames, Louis and Brenda Wood, and Charlotte Doucette; as well as many cousins.

The family would like to thank April and Heather from Ross Manor, Lynn from St. Joseph’s Homecare and Hospice, Christine and Jan, the lovely social workers that have helped the family, and neighbors, Jason and Amy.

A graveside service will be held at Williams Cemetery, Bradford, in the spring. A private celebration of life will be held at the family home, in Glenburn.
