STEVEN TOTMAN BLACKWELL - BANGOR
Steven Totman Blackwell, age 67, passed away peacefully on March 6th, surrounded by loved ones, following a tragic fall while walking his dog. He was born on July 27th, 1955, in Chevy Chase, MD, the son of Albert and Barbara Blackwell.
Steve graduated from Albright College in 1977 and earned his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1980. There, he started a family and practiced law in Maine for nearly 40 years with various firms, retiring in 2021 from Lanham, Blackwell & Baber P.A. in Bangor. During his career, he was on the Board of Governors of the Maine Trial Lawyers, the Maine State Bar Association, the Penobscot County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing, and spending time with his precious dogs, Scout and Tank. In recent years, Steve took great joy in his part-time job in the kitchen at Dysart’s and cherished his time assisting seasonally with operations at Chandler Lake Camps. He brought joy and love to everyone around him. In a heroic final act, he donated his organs to save the lives of others.
