Steven C. Holmes of Kerhonkson, New York, a retired correctional officer for Shawangunk Correctional Facility, Wallkill, New York, and a life-long resident of the area, passed away on Friday April 22, 2022 with his loving daughter and son-in-law by his side at their residence in Bangor, Maine. He was 61.
The son of Iris M. Holmes and the late Charles E. Holmes he was born on October 23,1960, in Middletown, New York.
Steven was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He met and married Aimee Droppa with whom he shared five children with. He loved spending time hiking with his children and grandchildren and hosting family dinners afterwards.
Survivors include his former wife Aimee Holmes and their five children, Amber Perri and fiancé Aj Marcinak, Tanya and her husband Justin Swigart, Felicia and her husband Dietrich Pate, Heather Holmes and fiancé Zachary Hajecate, and Steven Holmes Jr. and fiancé Shana Stephens. He leaves behind four grandchildren Anthony, Alexander, Dakota, Asher, and two future grandchildren. Mother Iris Holmes, and siblings Kathy McDonald, Teresa Bell, and Pamela Hermance. Many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Steven will be missed and forever remembered. A private service will be held.
