Bangor – Susan Rolsky Garson, 86 passed away unexpectedly at home on November 23,2024.
Born and raised in Bangor, Maine she was the eldest daughter of Samuel and Sylvia Rolsky. She was a graduate of Bangor High School and University of Connecticut, earning a degree in early childhood education.
She met her lifelong partner, Arnold Garson in college whom she was married to for 64 years and was the devoted mother to 3 children, loving grandmother to 7 and proud great-grandmother to 1.
Susan was proud of her 25 years of administrative service to the Intensive Care Unit at St Joseph’s hospital. In addition, she contributed to the welfare of the hospital as a member of the St Joseph’s Hospital auxiliary.
At Eastern Maine she shared her love of babies as a volunteer for Carter’s Quiet Care Cuddlers. She was a lifelong and dedicated member of the Beth Israel Synagogue, where she served as an officer of the Sisterhood.
She is survived by her husband Arnold Garson, 3 children and their spouses: Michelle Usiskin (Keith) Gregg Garson (Patricia), Stacey Pollack (Sam), seven grandchildren, Ilana Usiskin (Aaron Hakim), Lee Usiskin, Joshua Usiskin, Gabrielle Heille (Nick), Ben Garson, Boden Pollack, and Sage Pollack and one great granddaughter Remi Hakim. She is also survived by her sisters Paula Adelman and Anne Levine (Mark)
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday November 26th at the Jewish Chapel, 118 Center St. Bangor. Interment will be at Beth Israel Cemetery. After internment shiva visitation will be held at 40 Camden Court, Bangor, evenings at 7PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday as well as afternoons from 2 to 4PM on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
